Cultivating Gratitude

So I came across this post from Renown and Crowned on cultivating Gratitude. She has been posting her journal of all the things she is grateful for and I was inspired to do the same. Every thursday I will make a new cultivating Gratitude post.

Its so easy in our daily lives, in the midst of work, spouses and growing babies to go without acknowledging the Mercies God brings us everyday
To go without saying thank you to our heavenly Father for all he has allowed us to partake in.

I know its easier for me to complain about whats wrong or not going my way than to be grateful and full of praise. So this blog series will help to keep me accountable and focused on cultivating an attitude of gratitude

If you keep a gratitude journal or blog please share link or thoughts in the comments below.

Lamentations 3:22-24 ESV

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;  they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.   “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
Heres my list for the week,

  1. Your list is a fabulous start! I have found that forcing myself to find things I'm grateful for may lead to some rather obscure discoveries -- it's so easy to take little things for granted (and the people who love us, too). I remember the day I wrote down "clean drinking water." I drink it daily and rarely think about the fact that so many people don't have easy access to clean drinking water. God uses our desire to be grateful to cultivate even more gratitude than we can imagine.

Thanks for letting me know you're joining this journey!

  2. A gratitude journal sounds like a great idea. We can keep journals of so many different things. It is easy to complain, but remembering all the things God has done for us is a blessing in itself.

  3. A gratitude journal is a wonderful idea. I write in mine occasionally but just that I started looking for things to be grateful for has changed my perspective even when I don't actually record them. Of course, it would be better that I did!!

  4. Yes, find joy in the smallest things to be grateful for. Our spirits are lifted as we praise and give thanksgiving to our Lord. Thank you for sharing your lovely post with us here at “Tell Me a Story.” http://letmetelluastory.blogspot.com/
